INDUSTRIAL SOLUTIONS, DELIVERED.

Industrial engineering needs are as complex as superheroes. From water quality and management structures to spillways and floodwalls, safety and quality come first. We deliver both to solve your problem.

FEATURED PROJECTS

$10B Petrochemical Facility
Corpus Chirsti, Texas

This project is in partnership with Bechtel, Rexco Construction, BBA Consultants and SpawGlass.
Picture
The Challenge
This $10B petrochemical facility is a fast track project - meaning it is being designed, reviewed and built concurrently. The opening is currently delayed due to high-level homeland security requirements with regard to its security infrastructure and hurricane resistance requirements.

The Solution
We teamed up with Rexco Construction and BBA Consultants to design, review and construct the high level security infrastructure that includes the parking lot, guard houses, pre-fabricated field offices, security screening check points and secured employee shuttle station. We are tasked with designing all of the concrete elements including canopies, concrete paving, curve and gutters, ballards and lift gates – all to meet homeland security requirements for blast resistance and international building code requirements for hurricane resistant construction.

Generator Replacement Project

As the lead structural engineer, I was tasked with the replacement of the steam turbine, generator and condenser for the campus central power plant.

The Challenge
The old system was approximately 60' x 20' and it required selective demolition and shoring of existing structure to create a pathway to remove the unit without disassembling it. The second challenge was that the building was an old, low-barring masonry building. The building was built around the original unit.

The Solution
Our solution included specifications for select demolition, design of temporary shoring structures and retrofit of foundation support to accomodate static and dynamic loading.

Downtown Tunnel Shaft Design for Austin Water
Austin, Texas

Permanent Manhole Structures
Picture
As the lead structural consultant I was tasked with design and development of plans and specifications for the project. The project consisted of three (3) 90 ft. deep shafts through clay and into Edwards’ limestone to support tunnel boring operations below Town Lake.

The Challenge
Gathering of geotechnical data and engineering considerations for drilling in proposed shaft locations.

The Solution
We provided a schematic design report outlining advantages and disadvantages of the proposed shaft locations. We provided 60% Report and the design and development plans and specifications for the project and provided ongoing project support to discuss and address any issues that arose during the project.

Manufacturing Facility
This project was the construction of an 80,000sf manufacturing facility with 25 ton jib cranes and super flat high strength floor slab.
Picture
The Challenge
To design spread footings to accomodate 25 ton jib cranes. Superflat floor tolerances were required due to their manufacturing processes.

The Solution
For our roll, we utilized mass-pour reinforced conrete spread footings. We utilized ASCE guidelines for industrial floor slabs to design a stiff slab to minimize deflections and long-term creep.
